Most local clubs gather once per month at a local meeting place. The following is a typical scenario for a meeting.

Dinner, a brief business meeting, a program, and fellowship are features of each meeting. Every meeting is divided into three distinct parts.

First, at every meeting a simple meal is served. Before and during the meal, a time of fellowship is enjoyed by the members.

Second, the brief business meeting is conducted. Methods and means of assisting the community or any member are discussed and resolved. The community services of the club are planned and carried out under the direction of the community service committees.

Third, the program is an important part of every Ruritan meeting. Speakers at Ruritan Club meetings often are authorities in their fields and discuss some worthwhile community problems or some subject of general interest to the club.

Our target for the year is to exceed 90 percent membership attendance at each regular meeting. If a member is unable to attend a regular monthly meeting, it may be made up by attending a meeting of the Board of Directors, working four hours on a club project, or attending a meeting of another Ruritan Club within 30 days before or after the missed meeting.

Meetings of the Board of Directors are also usually held monthly.
