Join in the celebration of Ruritan Awareness Month in May! Ruritans across the country will be conducting special projects to serve others and bring awareness in their communities. This is a great way to support recruitment of new members and to let people know what great things your Ruritan club is doing in your community.

Suggested Celebration Activities

• Request proclamations from state senators, governors, mayors, board of supervisors, etc.

• Make state and local government officials associate members
• Contact the media (newspaper, radio, TV) to inform of club�s service projects
• Hold a membership meeting and invite prospective and former members
• Make a photo display of club projects
• Make a video of club projects
• Hold a blood drive and distribute Ruritan brochures
• Hold a community food drive and distribute Ruritan brochures
• Present Ruritan Forever membership to honor Ruritans for their service
• Honor club members� service through the Tom Downing Fellow Program
• Present Rudy Bears to local police and fire departments
• Fly flags
• Sponsor a community picnic on Memorial Day
• Attend Founders' Day in Holland (Suffolk, VA)
• Recognize the founding of Ruritan on May 21
